A sailboat with a blue cover on the deck floating on calm water near a green hilly shoreline with rocks, under a cloudy sky.

Some are meant to wander, some aren’t… I need to wander, to travel, to explore.

As a child I wanted to live on the water, I would dream of a house on lots of logs in a lake, I just needed to be by the water. With age came wisdom, a house on a raft of logs would not be a good idea… but then my father took me to the local sailing club and we sailed on a Heron, a two handed dinghy. We capsized. I was obsessed. Ever since I’ve tried to stay close to the coastline, exploring everything I can, whether by land or by sea. The water is home.

Toby Burhouse

Working as a freelance Digital Marketer, I take every opportunity of freedom to explore the coastline of Cornwall, it’s history and community. From finding great anchorages to discovering old smuggling routes.

In love with the sea and coast I’m writing a book about the smugglers who operated here, with ways the reader can explore for themselves.
